Grok Bot FAQ

Question 1

What is grokdir?

Accepted Answer

grokdir is an index of shareable Grok bots and Grok Bot plugins. Bot listings are grouped by what they do, with a short description and a share link on x.ai. Plugin listings use x.ai/bot/plugin/.

Question 2

What is a Grok bot?

Accepted Answer

A Grok bot is a named Bot in the Grok Bot app. It keeps a job, memory, and tools on a persistent cloud computer. grokdir groups public shares so you can pick one and add it in Grok Bot.

Question 3

What is a Grok Bot plugin?

Accepted Answer

A Grok Bot plugin is a pack of skills, slash commands, and tools a Bot can use — writing, research, mail, coding, and similar work. grokdir lists public plugins with an x.ai/bot/plugin/ page so you can add them in Grok Bot.

Question 4

How do I add a Grok Bot plugin?

Accepted Answer

Open the listing, then Add to Grok Bot. That opens the plugin preview on x.ai (for example https://x.ai/bot/plugin/9717366). Add it in the Grok Bot app. You can also browse plugins from Settings in Grok Bot.

Question 5

How do I find a Grok bot for a specific task?

Accepted Answer

Start from a category such as coding, writing, research, productivity, finance, education, creative, and science. Open a listing that matches the work, read the description, then open the share and add it in Grok Bot. You can also search from the home page.

Question 6

How are the listings organized?

Accepted Answer

Listings are grouped into coding, writing, research, productivity, finance, education, creative, and science. A listing can belong to more than one category when more than one kind of work applies.

Question 7

Can I browse Grok bots by who made them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each listing names the author when grokdir has that name. Open the authors list to see every person, then open that author to find their Grok bots.

Question 8

How do I add a Grok bot?

Accepted Answer

No. grokdir is independent of xAI. Grok is a product of xAI. This site is not an official xAI catalog.

Question 10

Is Grok Bot the same as Grok on grok.com?

Accepted Answer

Question 11

Is Grok Bot available for enterprises?

Accepted Answer

Accepted Answer

Yes. grokdir only publishes Grok bots with a working x.ai/bot/ link, and Grok Bot plugins with a working x.ai/bot/plugin/ link.

Question 13

Can I submit a Grok bot?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. grokdir is curated, and there is no public submission form. When that changes, this page and About will say how.

Question 14

Does grokdir publish guides as well as listings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Articles are longer guides about finding and using Grok bots and Grok Bot plugins. Listings cover a named bot or plugin, the work it does, and a share you can add in Grok Bot.
