Turn Grok Bot browser clicks into scripts

Sam Sokolin says repeating Grok Bot clicks burns tokens. He later shared Not My Tempo, a bot that audits routines and turns computer-use work into scripts.

Sam Sokolin wrote a short note on X about a Grok Bot habit that wastes usage: sending the bot through the same web-app clicks again and again.

Sokolin works on Grok Bot at SpaceXAI. The note is about computer use — the bot driving a GUI — on a page it already knows how to operate.

The pattern

Repeating those clicks burns a lot of tokens. The workaround he uses is to ask Grok Bot to reverse engineer the expensive browser-use job into a script.

The steps in the post are:

  1. Do the task once with computer use.
  2. Have the bot capture the network requests from that run.
  3. Next time, skip the UI and hit the APIs directly, using the same auth.

He also says that path is faster than watching the bot click through a GUI.

Not My Tempo

He later shared a bot that applies the same idea across a roster: Not My Tempo.

He says it will:

  • Convert expensive routine computer-use tasks into scripts and connectors
  • Look for opportunities to optimize the cadence of routines
  • Move cron-based routines onto event-based triggers

The public share asks for a full fleet audit on first run and not to create a weekly tempo check unless asked. He asked installers to tell him how many tokens it saved. The post does not include a number.

The usage note is on X. The bot announcement is the follow-up.
